My youngest son (not that young, as I am old...) is currently unemployed, and is subsidising his meagre income by selling stuff on Ebay. Now, I don't expect you all to rush to buy something, but if you wouldn't mind spreading the word, please.

Made it over to @allgoodbookshop.co.uk near Turnpike Lane today, and it's so nice - I always love a shop that does a mix of new and second-hand, and the second-hand selection is really charmingly curated, simultaneously expansive and specific

In 1890, the Tariff Act came into place in the United States. It placed tariffs on imports of up to 50%.
While touted as a way to build American industry, there was also the hope it would force an annexation of Canada. It backfired.
Let's learn more.

For years my lovely dad ran a film quiz. These are a selection from every year. A mix of anagrams, hidden or simply cryptic.
The films are mostly well known, and range in release dates.
Please share and enjoy (and consider a donation to @hospiceuk.bsky.social)
Will post answers after Christmas.

We're actually getting some orders through BlueSky, which is really exciting. Twitter used to be pretty good for orders, but for SOME REASON, it died off a couple of years ago. Not had an order there in a long time. So this is lovely.

as we have a few new followers i thought i had better tell you about the shop...

2019: The co-op is formed
When a popular local bookshop (The Big Green Bookshop) moved away from the area at the end of 2018, it left Wood Green and Turnpike Lane without a bookshop.
