I did find parts of this book genuinely funny, as it reminded me of things my late (Polish) father did. Not the relationship, I might add, but inventions like Toshiba apples. It also captured the layers of sadness in the situation, so I agree, to market it as a comic novel did it a disservice.

Last year was the first time I visited without my dad (1st Independent Polish Parachute brigade). Their spirit lives on.

This is fascinating, thank you. As a child, I frequently visited Melton Mowbray with my family to see my father’s friends. We spent time in the Polish club and church, so it is interesting to read about the history of the Polish community.

I agree- these issues should be part of PM meetings. Governors are in an unique position to be able to look out for the well being of leaders.
