Beautiful, powerful art that has stuck with me.

27. August 2025 - Semi-well-adjusted Despite Literally Everything by Alyson Stoner

Another audiobook listen! I love hearing authors read their memoirs. This left me feeling a lot of feelings.

26. August 2025 - Saga, Vol. 5 by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples

24. July 2025 - Absolutely Everything by Damian Alexander

Middle grade graphic novel that’s a beautiful and accurate depiction of being a young girl with ADHD. I related so much to Marcella! I hope this book finds every young person whose brain works differently.

23. July 2025 - Hunchback by Saou Ichikawa, translated by Polly Barton

A 90 page exploration of life - its mundanity and its existence-shifting - from a perspective I hadn’t read before. Would definitely recommend.

22. July 2025 - Raging Clouds by Yudori

I didn't like this graphic novel as much as I wanted to, but I also admittedly read it very quickly and didn't spend as much time with it as maybe I should have. It wasn't quite my thing, though I appreciated the message and what it was trying to do.

21. July 2025 - Mixed-Up by Kami Garcia, illustrated by Brittney Williams

A middle grade graphic novel that handles neurodivergence, school and friendship so authentically and compassionately. I saw so much of myself in Stella. This healed something in me tbh. This book is for everyone.

20. July 2025 - Elsie Tries a Triad: A Unicorn Book for Grownups by Eileen Blake, illustrated by Rachel Ivanyi

A short story about Elsie the poly unicorn who is learning to know what she wants and ask for what she needs. It made all my bookstore colleagues tear up. PROTECT ELSIE AT ALL COSTS!

19. July 2025 - Ecstasy by Ivy Pochoda

I want to just tear this apart with my teeth. A lush, dark, feral, hedonistic, feminist feast of a book. I’ll be thinking about it for awhile.

18. July 2025 - The Orange and other poems by Wendy Cope
July 7, 2025 at 9:43 PM
17. July 2025 - motherlover by Lindsay Ishihiro

Another fave of the year. A gorgeous, grounded, and beautifully queer friends-to-lovers story about family and coming into yourself.
July 7, 2025 at 5:16 PM
16. July 2025 - I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

Absolutely fantastic. I listened to her read it and I think I’m going to go buy the physical copy. Deserves all the hype it got.

(big cw for eating disorders, parental abuse, alcoholism)

15. June 2025 - I Can Fix Her by Rae Wilde

145 pages of sapphic longing, disaster lesbians, surrealism and minor monster gore. I honestly loved it.
July 1, 2025 at 11:02 PM
14. June 2025 - West Hollywood Monster Squad by Sina Grace

A fun, queer, trans, YA graphic novel about friendship, capitalism, and identity.
June 9, 2025 at 6:54 PM
13. June 2025 - Come Home to My Heart by Riley Redgate

Another favorite of the year so far. I fell in love with Gloria and Xia’s found family. A really special, important book.
June 8, 2025 at 11:23 AM
12. June 2025 - Love in Focus by Lyla Lee

Read this in 24 hours! It was a great way to start Pride month. 💕 A fun, hot, sweet sapphic romcom that leans into romance tropes while still feeling grounded.

11. June 2025 - Death at the White Heart by Chris Chibnall

The man knows how to tell a story. Read this one so fast and I want moooore.

This comes out in the U.S. on June 10!
June 3, 2025 at 8:40 PM
10. May 2025 - Woman World by Aminder Dhaliwal

A graphic novel set around the premise of men going extinct. It’s silly in a good way with some profundities and reflections mixed in.
June 3, 2025 at 8:40 PM
9. May 2025 - Bloodmarked by Tracy Deonn

I waited a year to read this AND FOR WHAT REASON?! I’m not generally an Arthurian girlie but Tracy Deonn has me in her clutches. I loved the first book and this one was no different. It’s so good. So good.

8. May 2025 - Everything Is Tuberculosis by John Green

Listened to this one and it was like a 5 hour vlogbrothers video in the BEST way. Everything really IS tuberculosis, because everything is capitalism, because everything is racism. Def would recommend.
June 3, 2025 at 8:40 PM
7. April 2025 - Sweetener by Marissa Higgins

Don’t think I “got” this one either, but I devoured it nonetheless. Disaster lesbians abound! Gay people can be bad people too xoxoxo

Pub date: Aug 19 2025

6. April 2025 - Harriet Tubman: Live in Concert by Bob The Drag Queen

Another favorite this year. Do yourself the favor and enjoy this book (and the accompanying song). I read it as an ebook but the audio book (read by Bob herself) is undoubtedly great.
