Just learned that my upper-MG novel-in-verse, grappling with divorce and addiction and a budding crush, was awarded Honorable Mention in the 94th Annual @writersdigest.bsky.social Writing Competition!

I’m trying to just do art regularly, for fun, and not care about how good it is. So I present my #starterpacknoai because I had to join this trend. Here I am in all my smudgy, scrambled glory.

I got home yesterday from the @scbwi Utah/Southern Idaho spring retreat, and promptly took a 2-hour nap. Then I made sushi and pizookie for my kid’s 15th birthday. Today I’m baking gluten-free bread. After that I need a little break from food preparing. 😅

So many incredible hobbies here. I am always cycling through different craft explorations (sewing, crocheting, printmaking, visible mending) and I love baking, which has evolved to vegan and gluten-free baking in recent years. My latest hobby that I do with a friend weekly is nail stamping.
