If you think it can’t happen here, remember that it already did. In 1942 soldiers came with rifles to our home and ordered us out. They put us in internment camps. Most of us were citizens.

also a demonstration of how over-caution can easily become dangerous. sometimes the less risky move is the bold and aggressive one. milling around like a lost sheep when a knife-wielding maniac is charging at you is not averting risk
One thing you really see every day is the different risk appetites between MAGA-era Republicans and Democrats. Basically compulsive, reckless, dangerous constant risk-seeking, versus almost comical levels of risk-aversion.
