Money. All bought. #Schumer gives a speech at my university every year at graduation. Word for word it is the exact same speech. Lazy. Does not care.
It sometimes feels like the Democratic party is complicit in its own demise. It's just sheer luck that the MAGA movement is developing cracks because not even they want to protect another pedophile.
There's still loyalty among them but it is waning.

Puzzled by shock at Trump/Mamdani presser. Long history of autocrats opportunistically--& temporarily--embracing enemies. I think Mamdani's right to use the moment. Suspect he gets it's just that. & also knows Trump sees he gets a little "winner" shine & can later say "I gave him a chance."

There's been no love for this post, but I want to stress that in making pre-K free and introducing free school breakfasts and lunches Bill De Blasio did more for New Yorkers' family budgets and food security than any other mayor. Incredible political legacy, whatever you personally think of the guy.
Also bears noting now that he's being talked about that it was Bill De Blasio who brought universal school lunches to NYC in addition to universal pre-K. Say what you will about his tenure, but these were transformative policies that are now taken for granted. Put some respect on the man's name.

I have been a reporter for close to 40 years, including stints covering police and the courts. This thing, from the president down, of accusing people of crimes when not charged: That did not used to be a thing. Authorities don’t do that because it is unfair and leads to cases being tossed.
