It is, in a society that wasn't fucked though I think the recourse would be that everyone would be appalled and he'd lose his platform. I'm just not sure we should be arguing for the state or the law to get involved, because the state and the law arent friends to us and that precedent hurts us

Sorry if my argumentation is a bit clumsy here. Either way, I'm behind so much of what you do for our community, so don't take this as me having a go, much love

No for sure not the same, I agree, but I raise the Palestine angle because it shows that governments can be willing to criminalise speech by progressives, which could easily conceivable include trans people. In this climate I dunno if I am get behind arresting people for speech (however vile)

He still is imo, he's just pointing out that this is a tactical mistake. We don't want the government to be the arbiter of what we can and can't say, because an even more right wing government could turn this sort of thing back on us. We're seeing that already with Palestine protesters now

At least reform will be honest about fucking everything up, rather than messing up my life then grinning at me and saying, "but you should be grateful, we're taxing private schools"

Youve put it much better than I could there Hazel! A list of nice sticking plasters is not going to convince me that Labour hasn't made my life objectively worse

Out of interest, what would you say the top three things are that Keir Starmer is doing that should please people on the left who are critical of him?
