They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.

My daughter lost a tooth but didn’t tell us. The next morning she said, sadly, the tooth fairy didn’t come. I asked where she put the tooth. She said, “on my dresser, in a plastic bag”. Thinking quickly, I replied, “oh that’s why! The tooth fairy needs to smell the blood on the tooth.”

Sitting down to read a book over the holidays. I read one half of a page and then my mind wonders for thirty minutes. This is why I hardly ever finish a book unless there is an audio book pushing me forward.
