My new report with Parkland Institute provides one of the clearest cases why for-profit surgical outsourcing is not the solution that provincial governments claim

Relevant findings for all provinces (looking at you Ontario)
Private surgical facilities in Alberta are starving the public system of staff and funding to perform priority procedures, according to a new report that concludes the province has yet to increase surgical capacity or reduce wait times as pledged. #ableg www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/alber...
Alberta public health system losing staff, funding as province increases spending on private facilities
Analysis shows provincial spending on private surgical facilities increased nearly three-fold in 2023-24 from 2019-20, while spending in public facilities increased marginally

"Bay St. needs to immediately stop financing fossil fuel expansion, which is worsening climate-related risk and undermining a stable economy and investment environment.... tell oil and gas companies to get serious about net zero and transitioning to clean energy, or take its financing elsewhere."
Opinion: As oil CEOs debase their own climate pledges, Bay Street must act
Fourteen oil chief executives have called for what seems to be unfettered fossil fuel expansion, including weakening of environmental safeguards

Checking CO₂ with @aranethome.bsky.social always feel a bit clunky. Not quick or discreet enough.

So I built an app to see Aranet CO2 values, instantly on:
⌚️ Apple Watch, with 2 complications
📱 iPhone lockscreen, with 2 widgets

Finally, CO2 monitoring that’s actually seamless and discreet.

We expected 2,000 people out in GOP-held Greeley, Colorado.

11,000 people showed up.

Something special is happening, folks. Now is the time to organize in every dimension possible and get to work.

Here is my latest on the threats facing travellers going into the United States.
This is no longer a nation under the rule of law. The United States has been taken over by political ideology abusing power to carry out political vendettas.
This is fascism.
