I've come to the conclusion that republican voters don't really follow politics.
They turn out to vote and ignore it until the next cycle.
They listen to "the democrats are so bad" rinse and repeat.

As expected, we have again a writer who said something transhpobic in the past (TERF-ish in nature) and got the deserved backlash has now a new book to promote and, instead of apologising, they gave an interview that cancel culture should be cancelled because they suffered when they were cancelled.
