It's class novel nomination week for my class. We're reading a chapter a day of a different book & vote on Friday. The shortlist ⬇️ on initial reaction I think Alex T. Smith might win but let's see! I love cooking, in fact today I made carrot & parsnip soup for lunch this week. In saying that, I really love my Sunday Cheeseboard. I love nibbling my way through it and remaining relaxed, not giving into Sunday-night dread. #Cheese #SelfCare #EduSky #ScoEdu

I'm not as restrained as @mrsveritea.bsky.social but skipped lunch so I indulged in a Sunday afternoon tea.
There's also the cosy smell of roast parsnip & carrot soup bubbling on the hob! #SelfCareSunday

I honour my grandfathers who served and returned from WWII, my great-uncle who still lies in a submarine in the North Sea.

A colleague asked if I had nice weekend plans after a long week (for us all) at work.
Me: Books, wine, food and rugby!

Picked up A Lone Husky @hannahgold.bsky.social, this month's wine club selection from local shop & then watched rugby while eating nice food, including black truffle creamy pasta.

It's been a tough week for various reasons so this lifted the spirits after a heavy day of fog yesterday! Not a bad view as I headed to work #Orkney #Friyay

It's been a wet, windy & generally unappealing weekend in #Orkney so cosy indulgent #Cheese tonight. Baked camembert & a while back I bought a jar of 2 black truffles reduced majorly because of the date on them, but they last for ages. Sliced one into the camembert & it smells amazing! #SelfCare

Well that has been a grey and dreary day to mark the end of BST! Cosy and colourful for tonight's #SelfCare cheeseboard. Back to work tomorrow with #inset days so gearing up for the mad rush of Term 2! #Cheese #EduSky #ScoEdu

My local bookshop The Orcadian. They have amazing children's & YA sections. What's lovely is they know I'm obsessed & listen when I go in & say what kids are reading locally & class novels etc. So new Bunny Vs Monkey made it to the window & Dungeon Runners stocked! @kieranlarwood.bsky.social 🙌

I've been domestic! Decided to cook at savoury crumble tonight & since it called for the chicken to be pre-cooked I decided to boil it & make chicken stock at the same time! So I've now got 3/4pt of stock after making the recipe. Nice & cosy on a grey evening after a rainy day! #Cooking #SelfCare

Today marks the end of the summer in #Orkney- the winter bus timetable kicks in tomorrow, the ferry timetable has already changed and various tourist sites are winding down for the year. It's rainy & windy outside and I'm celebrating having another week before I go back to school! #SelfCare #Cheese
