I have a microscopic patch of this planet. It’s enough. Binned off the other place. So far this looks better. The natural world rules. Don’t argue with it.

Succinctly put by Pete 👏
This from Pete should be everyone’s mantra .. it’s perfect!
British media lied and or conspired over Hillsborough, Brexit, austerity, the Farage riots, and Gibb turning the BBC into GB News.
But trust us on evidence-free anti-Labour stories.
Fuck that and them.

I like having a dull government. Rather than pandering to the frankly deranged press they just continue to get on with the bloody job.
So my second List this week. 10 this time. A total of 21 announcements or pieces of positive information by our Labour Government in 1 week. Some big news next week and more info on a better than expected OBR analysis. Well done Labour #FixingBritain

So seems Labour’s budget plans have changed because the OBR forecasts have improved e.g. the U.K. economy has improved.

This is positive news.

Too many rushed out negative hot takes this morning.

Thus is how it works Write 20 speculative budget articles. When one turns out to be right tell everyone "we told you so" and ignore the other 19. If feeling particularly malevolent claim the 19 are "U Turns". Our press are a disease.

@pippacrerar.bsky.social Here’s an actual example of news that people want to hear. Try it.
New today: Labour have cut waiting lists by 16,000 this month – meaning faster care and less worry for patients.

The past year is the first time in 15 years that waiting lists have fallen.

There's a way to go, but Labour are getting our NHS on the road to recovery.

Drip, drip, drip. More and more good news and positivity coming into the public domain. So much of it for our young people and families. This really matters. And no other Party can achieve this because they don’t look after our young. They look after their donors.

Starmer and Reeves have a 10 yr plan. I like their plan. I don’t expect it to materialise in 16 months. And I don’t expect it to be without its challenges. I also accept external factors will play a part. That’s why it’s a 10 year plan.

Yes Wes. That’s exactly what it is.
Streeting this morning compared the ‘civil war in Labour’ to an episode of Celebrity Traitors, saying “this is the worst attack on a faithful" since rugby star Joe Marler was banished in last week's BBC final. He backed the PM and said he was completely behind him.

Unacceptable. Horrific. Intolerable. Time to put racism back in its box.

This Government has introduced free breakfast clubs, additional free childcare hours and increased the minimum wage, it'll be great news if they remove the 2 child cap but let's not pretend they've done nothing for the less well off.

Want to know why the prisons system seems to be suddenly falling apart?

Well, it's not sudden. It's just suddenly being REPORTED. This rot was a deliberate policy choice, and I kept the receipts. Because I'm not the BBC.

(A note on what Tories did to cause this, from The Decade In Tory)

It seems some people have forgotten or refuse to acknowledge this shit. They all need to have a cognitive test.
The Tories record from 2010 to 2024:

Food banks 2010 approx 35,
2024 approx 1,711
Homelessness 2010 approx 1,768, 2024 approx 327,940
NHS Waiting lists 2010 approx 4.34m,
2024 approx 7.4m

The Labour Government cannot fix this in 15 months, they inherited a huge mess. @lbc.co.uk

A national newspaper journalist went on a British TV channel to claim police stats showed asylum-seekers committed 44% of sex crimes in Dorset.

This shocking claim was treated as fact by the channel which promoted the clip on social media where it was amplified by AI.

Except... it's bollocks.

Starmer can't say this publicly but it's what he and Labour should be telling the BBC very clearly and aggressively in private.
The resignations of Tim Davie and Deborah Turness must be an opportunity for the BBC to turn a new leaf, rebuild trust and resist those like Nigel Farage who want to destroy it

We must stand up for a strong, independent BBC, to stop Trump’s America becoming Farage's Britain.

Polanski doing the populist thing again. He’ll be writing Tax The Rich on the side of a bus soon.
Share this with every single person who thinks that Rachel Reeves can use only a wealth tax to fill fiscal gaps. The Treasury would be unlikely to see a penny until 2029. In short, we cannot fund November's budget with a wealth tax.

One day people will realize true progressivism is *protecting* incremental wins which added up becomes transformative progress. Demanding everything and the moon while not actually doing anything personally to move an inch forward isn’t progressive. It’s ignorant, whining and expecting to be babied.
