Now that I live on the Pacific Ocean, I will take advantage of it and get some sunset pictures over the ocean and some sunrise pics over the mountains with my DSLR. This is the perfect time of year to do it

This was my first chase of the year, near Sagerton, Texas. This tornado was an excellent case study on why you should always target the dry line bulge. This storm occurred in a low-CAPE, small hodo environment and it just goes to show that smaller storms ingest vorticity very efficiently. Twas a day

Custer City in May of this year. Prompted a tornado emergency, and was rated EF2, but likely much stronger, with DOW scans at 170+ mph. This storm was an excellent showcase of storm scale dynamics being just as important as the background environment. The structure was better than the tornado tho.

Incredible chase day near Mutual, OK. Celebrated close range intercept with Logan’s roadhouse with @marcusreynold19.bsky.social

Same tornado as last post, but about 15 minutes later. Minutes later it disappeared into the curtains of rain and dust, but not before rending the earth, ripping boulders from canyon walls and debarking mesquite trees. Definitely a powerful tornado, maybe the strongest I’ve ever seen.

EF2 near Duke/Eldorado/Olustee, OK earlier this year in May. This tornado was much more powerful than an EF2, though, with DOW scanning velocities of 231 mph. This was my first overtly multivortex tornado and I was freaking out. This day ranks as my favorite storm chase.
