Did Trump just announce new tariffs on Canada with Triple H?

Is he going to Pedigree the economy? Next week maybe he'll announce military funding with Rambo.

You know it's serious when an NL story beats those Coldplay kiss cam cheaters.

Evacuees are arriving at the Steele Memorial Centre in Gander.

Even if you aren't heading there, everyone leaving the area around Musgrave Harbour should call 709-727-0921 to register and make sure people know you're okay.

Hosting CBC's On the Go in 15 minutes!

It's the thrifting episode! We've got second hand clothes at MUN's new thrift shop, second hand vacations in our tech column, and a second hand show, as I got this episode cheap from Krissy Holmes.

Morgan Le Fey and Mordred speak in blank verse.

They're part of the world, but aren't playing Arthur's game.

Merlin, however, speaks roughly in iambic hexameter (six beats), because he's one step ahead of them.

Dactylic hexameter is the Homeric metre, from the Odyssey and the Iliad, WAY pre-dating Arthur legends, so it suggests he's older or wiser then the others as well.

The Arthurian kids all speak in classic Shakespearean iambic pentameter (five beats), but only to each other.

No one else around them not connected to the Arthur legend does, or is paying attention to them when they do.

My chapter of is called The Avalon, and imagines Arthurian characters as '90s St. John's mallrats, with the Avalon peninsula standing in for the mythical fairy-full island.

I wanted to use their language to help skew the reality and characterize them as well.

I was honoured to be one of the judges for this year's @dougwrightawards.bsky.social for best kids' book!

A frankly shocking number of incredible comics for young readers published across Canada this year, and it was not easy narrowing it down to these five, but each of them is an amazing read.

It's not too late to check out my latest comic "Effie is Thirsty" in the spring issue of Newfoundland Quarterly

I am already updating Effie's CV and bio accordingly:
