which takes the footway across the side road, but has to be designed carefully to be inclusive.

We're not against this little proposal, but it should be better. Comments to be submitted before 26th November.

There are lots of these across the borough, but with this one, there has been no attempt to tighten the kerb radii or other measures to slow drivers.

Nothing spectacular and the council apparently doesn't understand terminology as "Copenhagen" style is short hand for a continuous treatment

Apparently the yellow box will make right turns easier - not really out point, but they will put up signs - do signs get read?

We'll keep an eye on how it works and more news on the Main Road cycle track when we know more!

The council's director's decision comments that an exemption to the banned turn can be considered - that's not an actual decision.

On the good news front, there is apparently a cycle track scheme between Upper Brentwood Road and the Ring Road being designed - this could be transformational!

on drivers stopping at the proposed zebra crossing on Pettits Lane.

We said there needed to be a comprehensive redesign of the junction which properly considered cycle safety and accessibility, potentially with a signalised solution.

We were concerned that drivers turning right into Pettits Lane would be concentrating on a gap in traffic, rather than people using the proposed zebra crossing.

We were worried that drivers turning left into Pettits Lane might be worried about keeping out of the proposed yellow box with shunt

The banned turn had no exemption for cycles. National guidance states that cycle traffic should be exempt.

The refuge on the existing Main Road zebra crossing and hatching was to be widened and we were concerned it would "pinch" people cycling even more.

Roseberry Gardens
The Glen
Udall Gardens

If these locations are required, they chargers should be placed in the carriageway as other boroughs have done.
