Our void chonk Tiamat died yesterday as I was taking her to the vet to get her heart checked :(

She was a beautiful pudding princess of night and we loved her grumpy face very much 🖤

She had some pretty serious heart problems so this wasn't a surprise but it still sucks.
Tiamat, a beautiful black cat with bright green eyes, sitting very primly and looking at the camera like she's never been fed in her entire life. Her fur is a beautiful velvety black which was very soft to stroke.

Also, more lightheartedly, I decided to use the opportunity to continue (maybe finish) BG3, and the clingy cat wanted to be included so I made her a spot to sleep on next to the computer and she was very smug about it

So this is the park literally down my street, yes this is a pond with a huge bank of willows, yes reading The Hollow Places in the dead of winter with this across the street was Something.

So not all siamese cats are gonna be super lanky and pointy like the one you shared, and in fact both siamese I've had (both pedigreed) have looked more like the cat in the second photo than the first. It's a very varied breed which probably doesn't help with the "is my cat a siamese" thing!

Do you know if the strabism thing is also a colourpoint-related trait? Wondering because that lil buddy on the right is cross-eyed in the same way a lot of siamese cats are!

Ishtar decided to destroy me with cuteness today

Death In The Spires by KJC is also in the pile but I didn't buy it today, just got it signed. I also bought Confounding Oaths by Alexis Hall for my husband, not in the pile.

A photo of a crime of unspeakable cruelty about to happen: my seal point Siamese cat Ishtar is laying across my legs in bed. She looks extra cosy, but in her eyes is a look of tragic understanding. She knows I am going to get out of bed and displace her. Why I can't simply stay like this forever until she decides to go elsewhere is a mystery. Truly a greater tragedy has never been seen.

See our cat does that, when either of us is feeling crap she'll flop on our lap and do the thing cats do where they aggressively increase their density and somehow become much heavier... Maybe your dogs didn't get the memo that they're not lap dog sized?

An example of my seal point Siamese cat, Ishtar, in her "nurse Ishtar" mode. The photo is a selfie of me (a white person with green hair and glasses) laying on my sofa with a computer on my lap. This was a day when I had a bad long covid flare-up. Ishtar has firmly wedged herself between the computer and my face, and she's loafed up very compactly on my chest. Her ears are up and alert and she's looking directly at me, monitoring the unruly patient that keeps insisting on doing things instead of resting.
