WIP Wednesday with some DKPH post-canon Adrian thoughts.
An hour and fifty-three minutes. Adrian has done this often enough that he knows the timing well. He's panting from exertion, having long since let his herding instincts take over. A part of him feels like he should feel guilty for bullying some of the smaller dogs in the park by rounding them up, but it had felt so good to just let it happen. An hour and fifty-four minutes.

I feel completely normal about an upcoming FTL arc. (The fic's working title is "Lost Keys Jangling on a Keyring" but it could just as easily be called "Marnie Sure Is In Some Situations, Huh?")

Happy WIP Wednesday, have a dream sequence from my current Cass/AuDy draft.
AuDy listens to Cass breathing for a bit, though there's no telling how long. And, without realizing it, they fall asleep, too. * The Kingdom Come is larger than AuDy generally remembers it, both in the way it is laid out—more rooms, more corridors—and in its scale. AuDy feels miniscule, their head only coming halfway up to where their usual vantage point is. As they wander the many twisting hallways punctuated by bulkheads, a sense of despair suffuses them. They'll never find the cockpit at this rate. What should be a familiar, well-trodden path to them is now foreign to them. Eventually, through their wandering they come upon the common area, which is far more lushly decorated than AuDy last remembers. Aria appears to be normal-sized, dwarfed by the disproportionately large sofa. She beckons AuDy over. "The show's about to start," she says. "Come on and watch it with me." Without consciously realizing they have moved, AuDy is next to Aria on the sofa. It feels nothing like it had before. Aria takes one of their hands in both of hers, holding it still while she turns her attention to the vidscreen on the opposite wall. It looms over the both of them, a dark rectangular figure that seems to go on forever. The screen flickers to life. On it are the main characters from the A-drama they'd been watching earlier, but their voices are different when they speak. Though they are not sure how they know this, AuDy can tell that they are speaking in binary code. "We have to get out," the Apokine says. "We can't escape," says their illicit lover. Next to them on the sofa, Aria begins to sniffle. "You've got to help them, AuDy!" But before AuDy can question her—who, how, why?—they wake up.
