The fact is 68% of SNAP recipients are children, elderly or disabled. The rest are A) people who work full time but their employers don’t pay them enough to live B) people who can’t work because they’re caretakers or C) because they’re not healthy enough but haven’t yet been approved for disability.

Now, WHO will go hungry? I’ve seen quite a few comments that mirror this tweet. These people are either not engaged with reality or they’re propagandists dead set on starving you and your neighbors.

Here’s how much insurance premiums will increase if Dems fold on their shutdown demands.

The average person will be required to shell out $2,000 per month for basic health insurance.

I can’t find whether AIPAC is a big donor to governor Kelly, but this level of Palestinian erasure would certainly imply as much. I’ve been slowly but steadily losing respect for her the past few years, not sure I have any left after this statement. Absolutely vile.

Even better. Colyer, on the same day he defended fReE sPeEcH, is calling for someone to be fired for their speech.

I assume Colyer’s free speech at universities argument doesn’t extend to this situation.

Good to see the GOP embrace central planning.

Yup. This was in the big bill that Congress signed on July 3rd. They have $30B to throw at local law enforcement.

Similar to the share of Americans opposed to the genocide in Gaza for the past two years, and look where that got us.

I just learned this is in the big bill. This has to be the most petty piece of legislation I've ever seen.

According to the *Congressional Budget Office*

The bill Congress is trying to shove through would increase resources to the top 10% by the exact same amount that the bottom 10% would lose resources.

This is a redistribution program that takes money from the poor and gives it to the rich.

We're in a full-on economic crisis.

The last economic crisis was caused by COVID, and the Federal government stepped up in a big way to mitigate the impact.

This time, the federal government is laying off tens of thousands of people and cutting life-saving services to tens of millions.

I have an air quality monitor on my house here in Wyandotte County. It topped out around 150 on the 4th of July. I've never seen anything like this. There's also a film of ash on my car. #kswx

It's good to see they asked follow-up questions clarifying what Medicaid Work Requirements would mean in practice.

They are correct that imposing requirements would have no impact on the number of enrollees who are working but would increase state administrative costs to oversee program eligibility
