I think (hope) PM Carney is just using this as a tactic to appease Daniellezebub and shut her up. Pipelines aren't built until shippers contract enough volume to provide a reasonable ROI to the pipeline builder/operator, whether rate-regulated or not. Oil prices are too low for that now.

I suspect (hope?) a lot of the G7 discussions have already taken place behind Trump's back. I think the fallout from excluding him would be worse than having him in the country, much as I loathe the idea of him polluting Canada with his presence.

I will not travel to the US, and now buy almost no US-made products. For me, it's about the insult to Canada, not the tariffs. I enjoyed travelling to the US for both work and pleasure and was happy to contribute to the tourism industry over the years. Not anymore.
