Ann Lowe was the Black genius behind Jackie Kennedy’s iconic wedding gown.

Before the fashion world was ready to credit a Black woman’s talent, Lowe was already designing for America’s most powerful families. Brilliant. Bold. Innovative. Undervalued. And nearly erased from history.

“The decision was made to exclude me from the filmed production of Swan Lake because I was told my brown skin would disrupt the aesthetic.” ~ Misty Copeland

When folks gripe about DEI, remind them who benefited from shutting out dancers like Copeland. That pattern runs through our whole history.

I just found out there is a BEAUTIFUL senior cat named MRS. DOUBTFIRE up for adoption in Centre County, Pennsylvania! So, of course, I had to spread the word.

If you’re in Central Pennsylvania, please help this elegant lady find a home!

A Maine woman retired early to be a caregiver for her terminally ill mother.

Now she’s facing cancer herself, and because ACA subsidies won’t be extended, she is losing her healthcare.

Her costs are going up for $49,000 a year.

This isn’t healthcare, it’s eugenics.

Medicare for all.

The EPA is starting to allow the use of pesticides containing PFAS on food.

The move is part of an effort to roll back the regulation of what are called "forever chemicals" because they don't break down easily in the environment.

I haven't heard anything from American architects about Trump removing their Professional designation. In the UK it took me nine years to get my professional accreditation, which I still have. It's incredibly hard won. There's exams! You've got to study law. It's a Thing.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

Downgrading women's profession to trades, occupations or "just jobs" gets to the root of systemic misogyny. Sure, it's funny to joke about male insecurity but they aren't insecure. They are furious because they've lost power over women. It's costly them money. Abusing us too is just icing for them.
