This banner depicting Trump as an ICE agent, displayed by protesters today at the airport in South Korea, greeted workers who returned home a week after ICE raided the Hyundai-LG plant in Georgia. It captures the betrayal felt by Koreans as they saw pictures of their citizens arrested and in chains.

It also shows that men in their 20s voted for the conservative candidates even more heavily than voters in their 70s, who are usually South Korea's most conservative voters. This pattern of young men voting right-wing first surfaced in the 2022 presidential election. Here's a chart from 2022. 2/3

Quite a winter wonderland today on the #Yonsei campus in #Seoul. It's unusual for us to have any #snow on campus during the semester, let alone enough to build a snowman. I was tempted to hold my classes outside!

Great to hear from the #EU ambassador to #Korea today at the annual KISA conference. Security, public health and green energy are seen as "pillars" of the EU/ROK partnership going forward. EU engagement around the world now extends well beyond trade. Supporting Ukraine also a top priority.
