Please note… games like Baldurs Gate fall under “adult content”.
Canadians! There is a petition to sign to protest Mastercard and Visa's control over the purchase of legal adult content. This is specifically about the Steam & itchio situation, but language protects adult creators.

After so many years
of this pandemic
we know what we must do
to make it through
yet another wave:
wear a proper mask,
test frequently,
protect ourselves,
and try to protect others,
yes, after so many years
we know what we must do,
but (alas) how few of us
are willing to do it.

I told a friend
that the Walgreens’ dashboard
is showing a 15.5% increase
in Covid cases in the US,
to which he replied
that he can’t tell
if having to rely on
the Walgreens’ dashboard
for Covid data
means we’re in a comedy
or we’re in a tragedy,
and in response
I just said: yes.

Masking should be mandatory in all healthcare settings. Hospitals and doctor’s offices are where most sick people congregate. It’s also the most likely place for more high risk people to be. You shouldn’t have to risk getting sicker or more disabled while trying to get treatment.

My garden pond is up and running.
I haven’t decided if I want goldfish or minnows this year. The kids in the neighbourhood have started peeking in to see if the fish are out yet.
The water should be ready for fish next week.

ME isn’t just about feeling tired. Exercise won’t fix it.
Its disrupts the metabolism and impairs the brain, immune system, and autonomic nervous system .
It impacts every part of your life .
It is debilitating.

I will be sending this picture to anyone and everyone who asks me why I still mask.
This was a fresh clean filter before I started 2 days of gardening.
I deserve to breathe clean air.
So do you.

Last night’s election was a wild ride.
The ride is not over.
The Liberal Party won, but unfortunately not with enough seats for a majority.

Standing outside of a CHILDRENS hospital, where mothers give birth and lose children daily, with pictures of dead babies, might be one of the cruelest and most evil way possible to pretend to be pro life.

Everything is political now. It’s impossible not to be political. The world is an absolute mess. Trying not to be political is like trying to stay dry outdoors in a hurricane. Only the most privileged and sheltered can be apolitical. And even then, being apolitical is still political.

I spoke to @sonjfatah.bsky.social, associate chair of TMU's journalism school, who said this illustrates the threat political pressure campaigns pose to press freedoms in Canada:

“It’s a sacrifice of a journalist ...They don’t want to have to deal with the reaction from the trolls.”

In today’s episode of people are still good and the world doesn’t suck as much as it often seems…
Someone just drove 3.5 hours to deliver a $30 piece for my knitting machine.
She didn’t have to do that and it was so awesome.
Knitters are truly some of the kindest people in the world.

Partnerbrag: The last thing I said to my husband last night was “I’m not leaving the kitchen for you to do. I just have a migraine and can’t handle it tonight. Leave it. I’ll do it in the morning.” Then I went to bed. At 7pm.
And woke up this morning to a sparkling clean kitchen.

There are too many pressing problems now that too many people aren’t comfortable discussing: climate/collapse, COVID, bird flu, fascism, etc. I get it. I want peace of mind, too. But you can’t grapple with a problem without first facing it.
