Massive opening win for Italian home favorites, Simone Bolelli & Andrea Vavassori. The No. 7 seeds dismiss top seeds Cash/Glasspool 7-5, 6-3 to go 1-0 in group play.

Let’s just hope their Davis Cup captain is taking notes 👀🇮🇹

2025 was such a high quality WTA season with a core top 9 who distanced themselves from the pack and continued building compelling rivalries.

This top 9 group won all 4 slams, competed in all 4 slam finals, and won 9 of the 10 Masters 1000s.

Best WTA season since ______?

No. 4 Elise Mertens & Veronika Kudermetova oust the top-seeded Italians Errani/Paolini 6-3, 6-3 to go 2-1 in group play.

They won the WTA Finals in 2022 & have the most H2H wins (9-3) over the top 8 field this year…don’t sleep on them. (My pick to win the title)

The Hsieh & Ostapenko train keeps on rollin’ in Riyadh 🚂

The fan favorites take out No. 1 seeds Errani/Paolini 6-3, 6-4 in a clinical performance to go 2-0 (and in great position to make the SFs).

Hsieh last won this event in 2013 & Ostapenko eyes her 1st WTA Finals title.
November 3, 2025 at 1:32 PM
No. 2 Katerina Siniakova & Taylor Townsend edge past No. 7 Timea Babos & Luisa Stefani 6-2, 3-6, 10-6 in their opening match in Riyadh.

The 2024 finalists are 29-5 on the year with the highest win percentage (85%) among the top 8 field 💯

No. 3 Gaby Dabrowski & Erin Routliffe open up their title defense with a 6-3, 7-6 win over No. 5 Mirra Andreeva & Diana Shnaider 💥

Gaby & Erin are the longest standing team in the field and the only pair to make 3 straight WTA Finals appearances together.

No. 6 Hsieh/Ostapenko outlast No. 4 Mertens/Kudermetova 1-6, 7-5, 10-5 to round out day 1 in Riyadh 🔥

Hsieh was nearly flawless in the 3rd set tiebreaker, all over the net from corner to corner. The 39-year-old is in her 6th WTA Finals appearance in the last 13 years.

I could easily see Alexander Bublik (15th in the ATP Finals race yet still a chance to qualify) coming out of nowhere to win the Paris Masters event and grab the last spot for Turin. It would be verryyyy on brand for him.

Rajeev Ram has low key been so solid for Team USA in Davis Cup doubles the last 5 years since his 2021 debut.

He’s now 12-3 (80%) overall, going 4-1 with Jack Sock and 8-2 with Austin Krajicek.

It’s a shame that much of his success has been overshadowed by a few bad lineup decisions.

Funny exchange with Rajeev Ram and Austin Krajicek in press last night reminiscing about the “words of encouragement” from the Bryan Brothers ahead of the Olympic match vs. Nadal and Alcaraz last year.

No pressure 😂

These guys were so pumped in their press conference. Equated this to being “up there” with winning slams and being No. 1.

Great to see them have this moment after the unnecessary USA Davis Cup lineup drama the past few years.

Nearly 5 hours and 2 delays later, Team USA gets the doubles win 🇺🇸

Olympians Rajeev Ram/Austin Krajicek take out Machac/Mensik 7-6, 5-7, 6-4 to give USA a 2-1 lead over the Czechs.

A crucial win both for USA and for doubles’ legitimacy in the Davis Cup lineup.

Asked Bob Bryan about today’s crucial Davis Cup doubles match in Delray.

“We won’t be surprised if the Czechs make change the lineup. We’ve scouted their different dubs combinations and will be ready for whatever they throw our way. Raj and Austin have been a great team for us.”

In Davis Cup press last night, Bob Bryan said he wasn’t sure if Taylor Fritz would be able to play, since Fritz has been battling a cough & sore throat.

You couldn’t tell with his performance, handling Mensik 6-4, 6-3 to level the U.S. vs Czech tie at 1-1 ahead of day 2 🇺🇸🇨🇿

Marcel Granollers was 0-5 in career doubles slam finals until a few months ago. Since then, he and Horacio Zeballos have won 2 of the last 3 majors at RG and USO.

They save 3 MPs to beat Salisbury/Skupski 3-6, 7-6, 7-5 to win their 2nd slam at age 39 & 40. Incredible. #USOpen
September 6, 2025 at 6:43 PM
Joe Salisbury eyes his 4th #USOpen men's doubles title today, alongside partner Neal Skupski. He won three years in a row (2021-2023) with Rajeev Ram.

Salisbury would join the Bryan Brothers as the only other player to win 4+ USO titles in the 2000s (Bryans have 5; Mike has 6).

The #USOpen women’s doubles final is a WTA clash of the titans matchup 🍿

No. 1 Siniakova/Townsend
No. 3 Dabrowski/Routliffe

This is the 3rd time they’ve met (1-1), each in big finals: 2024 Wimbledon, 2024 WTA Finals, and 2025 US Open.

Rivalry in the making 🔥
September 5, 2025 at 2:55 AM
The #USOpen men’s doubles final is a rematch from this year’s Roland Garros:

No. 5 Granollers/Zeballos
No. 6 Salisbury/Skupski

First time since 2012 when the same teams have faced off in two slam finals in a calendar year. Lot of parity in men’s doubles during post-Bryans era.
September 5, 2025 at 2:22 AM
In addition to women’s singles, the #USOpen women’s doubles QF lineup is loaded with all top 5 seeds left and 7 of 8 seeded teams in the field.

The only unseeded team? Venus Williams and Leylah Fernandez 🔥
