Shin Lim’s show in Vegas truly hit. The tricks were incredible and loved the way the elements (film music, guests, set) helped tell a story about his journey. Guy is also quite funny. Highly recommend.

MERCY FOR NONE follows the JOHN WICK formula closely, delivering a decent action miniseries. SO Ji-sub is solid as the lead, even w/ the stunts. The action is great, not super inventive, but ramps up in fun ways. Super simple story. Fans of MY NAME or BLOODHOUNDS should have a good time with this.

#Watched Ieoh Island (1977) - Kim in psychosexual absurdist horror mode, more Butterfly than Housemaid. Feels heavily inspired by ‘73’s Wicker Man, with its folk horror tale of a search for a missing journalist on an island of female divers, fertility rites, shamans, and a constant pull to the sea.

May sound weird, but I do like how certain areas of K-town smell like South Korean cities I’ve visited. It’s mainly that concrete, gasoline and produce smell in plaza parking lots.
Probably not good to breathe that in, but what can I say? It brings me back. 🤷🏻♂️

Season 2 of ARCANE & SQUID GAME continue their respective stories with the same energy, style, and creativity as their previous seasons. I do hope SG season 3 addresses some of the rushed aspects of S2, but all in all a great holiday viewing experiences.
