We used to call the chain Crudulike or Spudupuke. Thought they were vile but would probably have preferred it to observing childbirth.

Wonder if anyone else had a Vicks vaporiser? Metal container with naked candle underneath and v flammable liquid based (tar and eucalyptus) on top. In kids’ bedrooms to help with colds. The metal got red hot. The fumes probably carcinogenic. Been banned for years. Best thing for colds though.
