I spend a completely normal amount of time imagining a Xena sequel where a modern woman discovers she's the reincarnation of the Warrior Princess and, after finding Gabrielle, sets off on sapphic adventures.

The self-storage facility where I work is wonderful. There are sometimes whole days where I don't see another living soul, and the only sounds are my footsteps and the gentle whistling upstairs.

Thread with more info on Smashwords' royalty changes
Apparently Smashwords royalties are changing as of January 1, 2026. Books under $2.99 will get 40% list; books $2.99 or over get 75%.

(Amazon KDP, for context, is generally 35% and 70% respectively)

Draft2Digital owns Smashwords, so if you publish via D2D it's easy to add ebooks there. 💙📚

I work in a liminal space and it is EERIE, but it is also peaceful, and nurturing, and forgiving. I am the thing the stalks the corridors, and the corridors are a comfort to me.

"Just use ChatGPT to write a book."

I don't let my phone's autocorrect come up with recipes for me, why would I let it make art for me?

Computers are supposed to make our lives easier so we have more time for art, not make art so we can return to the mines.
What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever received? The write what you know quip doesn’t work out well when readers don’t like what you know 😂 #writingq #WritingCommunity

An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.

It got drilled into younger me that I wasn't important and that nobody cared about my problems. I focus mostly on cheering for others, so when I finally break and need to talk about my own problems...I feel so small and fragile.

But so many folks reached out to me yesterday and offered comfort.
