In one swift moment she is taken from moonlit street into a dark alleyway, and Eithne reached for her dagger with her free hand, moving to slice at her assailant, without so much as a thought— just as Thancred had taught her. But the broad side of the man's gauntlet presses against her chest, pinning her knife-wielding arm to her and her body to the wall, all in one seamless move. The greatsword on her back dug its blunt edge into her self-admittedly thin armor, and Eithne regretted choosing to not wear plate mail… Looking up, she sees a shimmer of black scales and glowing green eyes— Sidurgu. "You failed to mention you were the Lord Commander's woman." His voice was sharp in the night, the threat in it no mere bluff. Despite that, Eithne didn't back down, meeting his gaze and holding the knife edge towards him. "I had yet to know myself, when we first met." In the morning, there had been an official declaration of her and Aymeric's engagement, which had led to the day becoming an interrogation from every man and woman she knew in the city. Eithne should have known she'd find no sanctuary from the questions even deep into the night like this.

"Do you accept House Fortemps proposal? Will you ask for Lady Eithne's hand in marriage?" Aymeric paused, the wound in his gut throbbing with his heartbeat. There was no more tempting offer on this star— and yet he resented it. This wasn't how he wanted the story to go, to move her across the board of Ishgardian society like a pawn and have her land o so conveniently in his palm. It was no better than the games his Father had played at— the one he'd won as a babe and so many other women and children in the Brume had lost. Yet when he thought of her figure on the altar, at the edge of oblivion, on marble floors with knees dyed scarlet, he couldn't bear it. If she were to fall at the hands of a viper amongst his own men, Aymeric may just forsake this city. In the end, he was but a man. He loved her, that distant Saintess with eyes the yellow of a harvest moon, with her twinkling laugh and quiet divinity. "I will." He took a deep breath, despite the protest from his sutures, "But I shall speak with her first, in private, before I submit a formal declaration of intent. I cannot… We cannot make a decision like this for her."

He bows and takes her hand, the ghost of his lips above her knuckles, in gratitude for the mercy of her presence; the Fury does not give visions without purpose. Greatness awaited her, this young and beatific warrior— the one his brash but pious heart had appraised as a Saintess. It is by Her grace that he gives the boy a way to connect with Ishgard— he knows She must have weaved this meeting into being. He would follow the thread of destiny without fear, for they walked in company of the Fury. Aymeric feels as if she, too, understood that this was but one step in a divine plan. It is many moons and many more dreams after when he grasps a semblance of truth, the ancient script of the Fury's prophecy becoming legible; but only when it is too late. Already the white king with his swords had desecrated Her halls— and he laid deep within the recesses of the Vault, where light dared not tread.

So the streamer Ludwig recently found out that one of his earliest regular viewers, who was trans, passed away and tonight he's doing a charity stream for the Trevor Project. So far he's raised over $46,000 in about 5 hours. www.twitch.tv/ludwig
