Not quite relevant but a friend was looking at getting a dehumidifier and I worked out that if it drops as much water as they claim, then the heat gained from condensing that water was about as much as the energy used to power the machine.

What do you suggest they do instead?
Can someone do the sums to work out if it's more energy efficient to tumble dry or to hang them up and run a dehumidifier?

If there is no market for it, then there is no basis to grant the licenses and the petition is misconstrued, except as a vehicle to garner publicity.

Asking the voters to apologise is victim blaming.
As for the politicians, start with Cameron.
Not, as many might think, for calling the referendum, but for making it binding without authority or due consideration, and for failing to prepare the nation to leave, which scuppered any chance of success.

If the UK wants to get off the naughty step, then it needs to show some contrition, for example, by prosecuting the people responsible and putting them in prison for a very long time.
