Decided to try a cheap makeshift helmet cam rig for my cycling. Still tweaking the rig a bit, but this video looks OK on first review. If I can end up getting some decent content with this experimental rig, I plan to upgrade to something like an Insta 360.

Tarantula Molt! My tarantula molted about a week ago, and has pushed the molt out from under its little halfpipe shelter. I removed the shell from the enclosure today.

Big Bur Oak Tree

Just calculated my gross cost-per-mile on my bicycle since I bought it:

USD $0.09 per Kilometer. (~$0.15/Mi)

That's definitely someplace cars just can't go. 😊

The etiquette rule it violated is to remove all the accessories so it's just the bare bike. I ride this bike everywhere all the time every day, and this is how I always have it loaded: Small black front handlebar bag, small black seat pack, silver-black backpack strapped to right side, and two large steel Contigo travel mugs with black lids in the bottle holder. This is a workhorse bike, not a showhorse bike.

I've decided that my life is kinda like a thistle: One beautiful flower (my footbag activities), but the rest of the plant is just gnarly thorns, and pain for anyone who touches it.

Not sure I've ever seen what appears to be an eye in the middle of a land storm withe multiple bands of rain spiraling off the center of the storm, but there it is, ESE of Windsor.
If you watch the radar motion, it really is rotating like that.

Also: This storm is headed towards me.

My SEVENTH Gas Station Boycott of the year!
That's 7 tanks of gas not bought (~$200), not burnt, not released into the atmosphere as carbon (~850Kg).
This is my favorite direct #ClimateAction because I LOVE TO RIDE MY BIKE!

So... Replace the flex tubing as well.
FINALLY -NO LEAKS!
The final frankenhacked plumbing job: Damaged pipe to dogbone joint to extra pipe piece to valve to flex hose. And it works. Took ALL DAY, 4 trips to hardware/plumbing stores, and almost $100 worth of parts.
This is my repaired pipe assembly in the under-sink cabinet. The original damaged pipe comes up from the bottom, the crack is fully covered by the white dogbone double compression joint on the pipe, with a new piece of pipe sticking out the top, and a new valve on top of that, with a new flex tube connected to the other side of the valve.

Next up, a plumbing specialty supply store. I got what they call a "DogBone" - a double compression fitting sleeve. Technically for PVC but it's the same diameter and works OK on steel pipe as long as the pressure isn't too much (mine isn't).
I am holding a white plastic"dog bone" in my hand. It has rubber gaskets and compression fittings on both ends. It is designed to joint 2 pressurized pipes together.

Epoxy and rubber clamp, with new valve, did not work. Slowed the leak down to about a drop a minute (instead of 6 drops a second) But I knew it wouldn't hold.
a valve sits on top of a steel feed pipe, with a clamp and a piece of bike tire inner tube around the joint between the pipe and the valve. I used a BUNCH of pipe point compound in there, but it didn't work.

Here's a photo of my makeshift capture setup: Yogurt container with holes cut in side and bottom, an old bike inner tube with corresponding hole cut, leading out to a big plastic catch bin.
