I don’t want to worry you but… this is terrifying.
The AI bubble may be about to bust.

Peter Thiel has sold all of his Nvidia stock.

We all need to say this very clearly:

NO BAILOUTS FOR THEFT-TECH!

Expropriate their asses instead.

They stole from all of us and fully plan to burn the planet.

They owe us - not the other way around. 1/3

I was just reading the new BlueSky terms and conditions when I came across this paragraph. The first two Acts are sensibly named. The third one made me giggle in its ALL CAPS, dumbed down glory…

New image processing techniques “refreshed” older Hubble data showing a portion of the Eagle Nebula. This structure is 9.5 light-years tall and 7,000 light-years distant from Earth, and is one of many nebulas in the Milky Way.

Remind me again with whom we should be making negotiations? Or is it likely the USA will be giving us millions of pounds worth of grants?

Petition time. Our pollinators in the UK are dropping rapidly, partly due to the pesticides we use. France has banned pesticides from towns & cities, and many other European nations are following suit. Currently we have a bee & butterfly emergency in the UK. Please:

I was a British tourist trying to leave America. Then I was detained, shackled and sent to an immigration detention centre
I was a British tourist trying to leave America. Then I was detained, shackled and sent to an immigration detention centre
Graphic artist Rebecca Burke was on the trip of a lifetime. But as she tried to leave the US she was stopped, interrogated and branded an illegal alien by ICE. Now back home, she tells others thinking of going to Trump’s America: don’t do it Just before the graphic artist Rebecca Burke left Seattle to travel to Vancouver, Canada, on 26 February, she posted an image of a rough comic to Instagram. “One part of travelling that I love is seeing glimpses of other lives,” read the bubble in the first panel, above sketches of cosy homes: crossword puzzle books, house plants, a lit candle, a steaming kettle on a gas stove. Burke had seen plenty of glimpses of other lives over the six weeks she had been backpacking in the US. She had been travelling on her own, staying on homestays free of charge in exchange for doing household chores, drawing as she went. For Burke, 28, it was absolute freedom. Within hours of posting that drawing, Burke got to see a much darker side of life in America, and far more than a glimpse. When she tried to cross into Canada, Canadian border officials told her that her living arrangements meant she should be travelling on a work visa, not a tourist one. They sent her back to the US, where American officials classed her as an illegal alien. She was shackled and transported to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) detention centre, where she was locked up for 19 days – even though she had money to pay for a flight home, and was desperate to leave the US. With Mark Carney stepping up and saying that if the USA can’t lead anymore, Canada will, I can’t help but feel a little grubby about the U.K. continued attempts to appease Trump. It’s not too late Starmer, but it’s a final boarding call…

No, and go away. You can make whatever laws you want in the US, but we don’t want you meddling with ours, thank you very much. You really need to put your own house in order.

Many people are saying Starmer is letting us down by negotiating with Trump. I understand, and I’d like nothing more than the rest of the world to find new trading partners amongst ourselves & cut out the USA.
But I also understand that if Starmer hadn’t tried to negotiate first, he’d be crucified.

Great result, Canada! Mark Carney is exactly the kind of person you want at the helm in a crisis! A wealth of experience, a steadying influence during tumultuous times, a clever negotiator & a financial wizard. The horror that is Brexit would have been even worse without him.
