Equal opportunity "destroyer". Sarcastic, sardonic og enviro scientist/engineer. A small part of a big narrative. Moralist..more or less. aka Buzz Killington

Your tree has passed the resident bug inspection task force. Had they found any it would have sounded like the were framing a house with hammers right next door. The power they have and wood chips they can generate is really something to behold. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful pair!

This is the #1 reason Florida lowered the working age requirement down to 14 yrs old, and why it should be raised up to driving age.

Less security means it will be much easier for some very bad things to happen to her. Even a female inmate accused of child sex crimes will often face one hell of a welcoming committee once the doors are closed given many women on the inside were sexually abused as children.

Btw. I love the laissez-faire approach and attitude of resignation you express with only getting to enjoying a few berries instead of exasperation.
Reveling in the knowledge that the birds got to enjoy your hard work, and smile widely when they left behind some just for you.

Growing up on a farm and then studying environmental science I learned long ago to plant 30% extra of everything to allow for insect losses, animals and mother nature rather than battle them with poisons, etc. Now in good years I can often harvest well over what was expected upon planting. It works!

I put up motion detector and screwed a plug adapter into the light socket. Then I placed a sump pump inside a huge empty planter filled with water and attached it to several sprinkler heads. When the motion sensor trips it sprays water everywhere and surprises the varmints enough to run away.

The steel shafts seem to be experiencing a galvanic reaction to the cast part. Ensure everything is grounded properly if it's wired in any way.
This article is good at explaining the use of heat, cool and vibration to loosen press fit parts, and their pitfalls.

3) Standing in complete amazement at what had happened he informed me that most pressed on shafts are made of dissimilar metals and by heating and and cooling them rapidly/briefly it opens up the tolerances between the two and in fact how most are assembled at the factory.
I'd pressure wash first.

2) After listening carefully he asked if we could go check it out and reluctantly I agreed. When we got to the shop he asked for a 5 gallon bucket of cold water and a torch. After heating it up cherry red he hit it with water, tapped it with a hammer and they pulled apart like butter.

1) This reminds me when I pulled an old Gheil round baler apart for service, 3 gear pullers, torches, and 3 days of frustration. After giving up and going to my girlfriends house, her father asked how I was and I explained in painful detail my woes of pressed on metal shafts refusing to come apart.

It's appears he was attempting a trade up if you were game. I've seen them trained to talk, pick up cigarette butts, coins, and paper money to swap for a piece of cat food 1:1. They really are amazing creatures if you take the time to watch and interact too. 🥰

The world needs more people like you and your husband. Easing the suffering of others, especially children is the most noble thing anyone can do with their life. What he has accomplished in attempting to ease his own discomfort is now easing the anxiety of those children and their loved ones. Bravo!

They should add bending and stooping, it's usually the hardest part.

Understood, but I also musing if mask wearing ICE agents without proper regulation footwear and cars without hard tires might be vulnerable too...hypothetically speaking.
