I have no problem getting insurance companies out of the system. They waste time and money. Non-profit single payor system (Medicare for all) would work much better and cheaper.

In other words they have no plan. Mainly because they (the Rs) have no idea how anything actually works. I mean they have believed in trickle down economics for over 45 years.

Nothing to fight for or with if I am dead. If I thought my side could prevail in a shooting war at this moment I would not hesitate, but I do not believe the situation is at that point now. More MAGAs have to be chipped away before that moment comes. Rs get weaker everyday.

But since we do not have that issue solved yet, why not solve the immediate problem by providing the simple infrastructure suggested. As the OP suggests it is cheaper and more human than having authorities destroying the homeless encampments and the meger property the homeless have.

In addition you have to file around 3 extra tax forms every year regarding the subsidy. She just demonstrates how most people (especially R voters from my observation) have no clue how important things to the daily lives work.

And you can add that there was no evidence that R's were moving a bit away from their long term goal of destroying the ACA. So the damage of the shutdown was not guaranteed to provide the benefit of saving peoples healthcare access.
