Strong article from Ed Kilgore in New York (via Drudge) … this was an unfathomable political move in any but these extraordinary circumstances. Newsom, acting with great speed on a political tightrope, shepherded this measure through numerous obstacles and got 2/3rds of the vote.

Atypically for veteran politicians, she was at her best late-career, imo, in firm opposition to Trump, whipping the impeachments and as a literal field general with her life on the line January 6th, her finest hour.
