tax the rich, they will whine and bitch and moan and they will pay their damn taxes because where else are they going to go, fucking Florida? it’s not Massachusetts and it’s certainly not New York City

My annoying historian's contribution is that each time we get a new "New Right" we need to start sticking a number on them (not unlike what we do for the Klan). We've had at least three that I know of, but I'd bet someone could ID a fourth somewhere.

Update: some punks (laudatory) had it.

If you were behind this, you're an idiot and you need to resign.

If you weren't behind this, you've lost control of your caucus and you need to resign.

I do have to concede that my wording here doesn't take into account the high-deductible-ness of HSA plans. But the FSA is still a borderline scam.

Fair point! The problem for me is that every employer that has ever offered me this choice, has offered the FSA with a plan that's only a marginally lower deductible. And the FSA itself, regardless of the underlying plan, is a terrible idea.

I'm not championing HSAs either. But FSAs are losers. An account that locks your funds into it and hands anything unused to your employer at the end of the year is something that would sound like a scam in any other context. Especially since employers have no obligation to fund an FSA themselves.

I got an HSA through a job years ago. "Maintenance fees" ate more of that account than paying for stuff ever did.

Love to dip into my account that pays no interest and resets to $0 every year.

I don't know. I think the American people are definitely crying out for a trade in which they lose their insurance in exchange for difficult-to-access money in a savings account that drops to $0 every year.

This country finally started taking steps towards fulfilling its promise when Senators lived in perpetual terror of a giant Texan cornering them like the rats that so many of them are.

Pointing the giant Texan at foreign policy, however, was a catastrophic fuck up.
