Over 10 years, total circulation in India has increased by 10% because of political determinants. Is this due to an increase in supply or in demand of newspapers ? After 10 years, politically motivated supply account for half of that effect. 8/12

This is driven by newspapers in the language of the state they are published in, ie, those more likely to cover state politics. 7/12

Markets who will become more politically important start diverging when the delimitation is announced. Circulation and number of titles increase in market who will become more politically important. 6/12

We take advantage of the redistricting (aka delimitation) of state constituencies: certain districts become more politically important (have more representatives) other, less, while some are left unchanged. 4/12
