Actually people who have not received the MMR vaccine. have slightly higher rates of autism compared to people who have received the vaccine. It is insignificant though, so statistically there is no difference. This means that the MMR vaccine is cannot be the cause of autism.

Even capitalism needs some guardrails. Pure capitalism ends up in monopolies & oligopolies. Luck also plays an important part in who is successful in a pure capitalist system. Serfdom and slavery were also products of capitalism. Even Mr Buffet recognises the role luck paid for some of his success.

A heat pump us still not the answer, because it still uses fossil fuels period. Yes it uses lower fossil fuel, but we need to get our grid off fossil fuels altogether. That is the only answer.

A heat pump is not the answer. It still burns lots if fossil fuels. Most modern built homes are so poorly designed you need to turn on the air-conditioning when it is 25 deg outside and you turn on the heater at 15 deg because the homes are poorly insulated with thin walls. We need better buildings.

What is the point, if Victorian electricity is produced from brown coal?
I get it if you have enough solar and batteries to run your home,

Actually this is for listed companies only. It would be interesting to see what the figure is when you include the unlisted private companies e.g Pratt’s Visy, Reinhart’s Hancock, Triguboff’s Meriton and Lindsay Fox’s Linfox?

We should quarantine the deduction so it can only offset unearned income (e.g rent, dividends, interest, royalties and gross capital gain), but not be offset against employment or business income.
Any further loss (if any) can be carried forward indefinitely.

It’s all those baby boomers retiring at either 60 ( tax free super pension), or 67 (age pension plus some super). Gen Z entering the workforce are small in number, not enough to replace the boomers.
Without immigration, we would run out of workers.

We are familiar with these hot summers in Australia. We stay in shade in the afternoons. If we must go outdoors we wear wide brimmed hats/caps and always have water with us.
The highest temperature I remember in Melbourne was 46.4C in the shade Feb 7 2009. Terrible day, bushfires and many deaths.

My Father tells me when he left the south of Italy decades ago, they had hot summers, but it was never humid. My cousin tells me today they have humidity as well as heat.

High interest rates at 6% ? Give me a break, interest rates are not high. Try 16% which is what many of us had to pay in the 1990’s.

Good decision. Home prices are already too high, you don’t want to add more fuel to the home price fire.

Only if they choose not to retire. If millennials spend less than they earn, put money away to invest (including through superannuation, other investment plans or their own business) at some point full time work becomes optional. The earlier you start, the earlier that day arrives.

That ratio no longer works once you are retired.

All those retiring baby boomers being replaced by a small population of Gen Z entering the workforce. In some industries (health, cleaning, construction, driving, age care) there is already a shortage of workers, which will only get worse. AI won’t replace jobs in these industries just yet.
