I'm sure the real answer is "because Sega mandated it," but imagine getting the OP theme in your new breakout game so fucking right on your first time at bat that the anime adaptors are then like, "Yeah, nah, we don't need to record a new OP song." And they're goddamn right they didn't.

i think very highly of Watamote. it's funny as heck but also i've seen few works that approach its verisimilitude in depicting the flow of life. i re-read vol 20 recently and it really exemplifies what the manga does so well
