The Wake school board approved more than $13 million in adjustments to its more than $2.2 billion budget Tuesday night.
The changes include money for higher-than-expected utility and academic costs, based on nearly equivalent savings so far this year.

WCPSS Board approves the 2026–27 enrollment plan, which focuses on the opening of Hilltop Needmore Elementary. The plan also includes changes to base assignments & calendar application schools, with the goal of easing overcrowding, reducing capped schools, & making better use of available space.
