Checked his wiki, set up Radar records and Silvertone (Stone Roses), signed U2, and this from wiki ..."but Lauder became known for releasing an extremely diverse range of bands; from Krautrock:- Can, Amon Düül II and Neu! via Underground music:"
Like you say old school.

Wonder if he's a good as Karl, the 17 year old Bayern sensation? On last nights display at Highbury a real philosopher of the game!

Another series to add to the ever growing list. The Death of Bunny Munro, adapted from the novel by Nick Cave. On Sky Atlantic - All 6 eps on catch up now. Reviews are encouraging. Lots of swearing, sex, drugs.
Watched ep 1 , quite promising and looking forward to the rest.

I will probably give it a go, but I can barely keep up with stuff that's on across all the platforms as it is so it might be well down the list. And then there's all the football on TV Mon-Thurs most weeks too.

Its been so long since I watched it I can't remember how much I actually liked it! I missed it when first broadcast and kept reading how great it was so I finally caved in and watched about 6 or 7 yrs ago Seem to remember Tom Hollander was superb in it.

Yeah, the Cork accent is a bit of a challenge mind you!
Just watched ep 1 of Summerwater. Pretty chilling stuff, featuring some Scottish A listers😀. www.channel4.com/programmes/s...
I see the beeb are trailing Season 1 of The Night Manager which is back on iPlayer, ahead of S2 which starts on Jan 1
Summerwater
Thrilling drama. Secrets and desires shatter the peace and quiet of a remote holiday park.

Neither, it's this one. Set in Cork, kinda the Irish version of Shameless in movie form - funny, violent, sad, uplifting. As the film shows it's set in the kind of areas where people have so many cousins they're unaware they even exist!

I doubt there can be many of them I never tried. Old Jamaica my Dad's fave, closely followed by Bourneville.

😂
Of course it was!
I should have known better to have you sussed pal!
Frankenstein patched till next week due to 2.5 hours run time. Not enough time to watch it due to watching Scotland fail miserably again. Watched an Irish film, Christy. Grim, gritty, but ultimately uplifting.

Nice one. Kingdom sounds intriguing. I am a fan of S Korean movies, but to the best of my knowledge haven't watched any TV series.

Just finished ep 3 of Pluribus. Definitely cooking a bit now after getting over the initial weirdness.
Frankenstein to watch later tonight. If Mark Kermode's enthusiastic review is anything to go by we're in top 3 movies of the year territory.
November 15, 2025 at 5:26 PM
Just watched the weirdest show I've seen for a while, new on Apple TV. Pluribis is not usually my kind of series, prob comes under sci fi. But it's created by Vince Gilligan of Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul fame so piqued my interest. Reviews are off the scale.

What's the verdict on Del Toro's new Frankenstein movie?

Did you not have glass bottle recycling in shops in Yorkshire back in the day CC? Again maybe a Scottish thing but if you took bootle of Irn Bru, or lemonade, or orange etc to a shop or ice cream van they gave you money.
Can't remember when it stopped being a thing up here.

JB released in 67 so def one of the earliest films I saw. My dad took me to see that, a change from his Cowboy favs.
ffw 2 or 3 years and each Saturday we went to the cinema, and empty jam jars and empty irn bru bottles were used to pay in, who knew glass was so valuable.
Is that a Scottish thing?

1mill yrs BC was possibly the first film I remember seeing in the local flea pit. Although it might have been The Sound of Music, which my gran took me all the way through to Glasgow to see. They were both released within 6 months of each other, so if going in date order it was TSOM.
1 mill my fave.
