Another fun fact, freshwater freighters are built to last a long, long time, and had she not sunk, there’s a good chance she would still be in service today. Her running mate on the fateful voyage, the SS Arthur M. Anderson, was six years older and is still afloat (though currently in layup).

Also, the guy it was named for (then-President of Northwestern Mutual Life) had a son also named Edmund Fitzgerald. The younger Edmund Fitzgerald co-founded the Milwaukee Brewers.

One thing I learned relatively recently is that the Fitzgerald actually had two passenger staterooms! They were typically used for officers’ families and company VIPs.

It's a very large drink, based on the specifications from the episode, so it may make sense to just do a half-serving! I am also assuming in 1991 they were using Mr. & Mrs. T sour mix, so I attempted to approximate using fresh lemon/lime/simple.
