Did you know that we have a species of Bison in Europe known as Wisent? They were hunted to near extinction in the early 1900s, but have now been reintroduced to the wild thanks to survivors in captivity.

This mighty Wisent lives at Skansen, the world's oldest open-air museum, in Stockholm, Sweden.

On this day, September 25 in 1066, the Battle of Stamford Bridge was fought between the Kingdom of England and the invading Viking army led by King Harald Hardrada.

The defeat of the Vikings symbolizes the end of the Viking Age, since it was the last great attack on England.
