It bugs me that "Where's yer poppy?" attacks, which flag shaggers use to imply a lack of "proper" remembrance, are always made against people (usually political enemies), but never against the massive corporations which flood all media with Christmas ads before Remembrance/Armistice days.

Like yeah, I can darn a small hole and yeah, some raggy clothes can be set aside for gardening and cleaning, but SO MANY of my clothes have multiple holes just from long wear and after investigating a dozen fake "recycling" options I'm slowly facing up to the prospect of just binning them.

Yeah, I knew they were shit and never used them but I've noticed their absence as a sign that the bottom has fallen out of the 2nd hand textiles market.
This whole thing is a worry for me at the mo because lots of my clothes have developed so many holes they're really not wearable.

It's a really common problem to get an empty bag delivered but not get the full bag collected. Pretty sure it's because volunteers deliver the bags on foot so they're diligent about doing each house, whereas collection is done by paid contractors who are lazy and unwilling to get out of the van.

I think the price of the rags used to cover the cost of the van and now it doesn't. On that subject, when was the last time you got one of those "give us your clothes for charity" bags through the door?

My local chazza is part of a chain that used to have a van picking up the rags and taking them to a central depot. Now the shops don't accept rags but apparently the depot will if you take them there directly. (I don't trust this and you can't get there without driving.)

In the past I've encountered many charity shops that take rags (ALWAYS ASK FIRST OBVIOUSLY) but now the ones I know that used to take rags have stopped.
My local council admitted after I did an FOI request that stuff put in the "TEXTILE RECYCLING" bin does not get recycled 😭

Have now worked out that if someone shares a doc with you on Google Drive, you can put a *shortcut* to that doc into a folder on your own drive. Which does help with organising stuff.

I find it hard to conceptualise this stuff tbh. Unfortunately switching to another platform isn't an option because two of my clients exclusively use Google Drive.

That's not even the most awkward thing that has happened to me in connection with a T-shirt from an old programming workshop but I would still like to join the chorus of female voices saying there isn't *enough* of a male loneliness epidemic.

He was in fact trying to look *beyond* me to the weights rack behind me to search for a specific weight. (We already had a huge choice of weights in front of us but clearly he was picky.) Eventually realised I wasn't going to dematerialise and ungraciously moved to see and get round me.

I realised the gym guy was staring at my torso and thought "oh, he recognises the programming framework! Now I have to steel myself for a chat where it becomes obvious that my programming knowledge is not in line with my propensity to wear programming-related T-shirts."
Turns out I was wrong...

I mean IMHO if your journey "should" take 30 minutes but most days it takes 40, then 40 minutes is your normal journey time and allowing 40 minutes does not count as allowing any extra time.
