@searchliaison.bsky.social It's increasingly common for enterprise sites to show different links/filters for Googlebot than users, hiding links to noindex pages. Feels like cloaking, but is becoming best practice for directory sites.

Are there instances where hiding things from Googlebot is okay?

@searchliaison.bsky.social For SRA: if a site permanently hires a former freelancer, does that writer's previous freelance content become first party? Can it become indexable again?

@coolcataudio.bsky.social I think you need to have a YouTube channel where you battle AI music generators. You both get an assignment and make songs; or it makes a song and you take it and make a better version, etc. Melody Ex Machina? AI vs Artist? The Bald Bard? Bald vs Bot?

I think now is the time that a search engine can disrupt and displace Google. Can you imagine seeing a Bing commercial like this?

Thanks to @coolcataudio.bsky.social for doing the voice over!

A different perspective on the Site Reputation Abuse penalties: www.seoforgooglenews.com/p/google-sit...
Google's reimagining of Site Reputation Abuse is wreaking havoc among publishers
A very broad interpretation of their site reputation abuse spam policy allows Google to penalise affiliate content at will.

The goats have arrived. They'll be staying a week to eat a couple acres of buckthorn.
