Things are really awful and I can’t add anything constructive to the discourse that hasn’t already been said more eloquently by someone with a larger following. So, I’m just going to add my photos as a timeline cleanse. It’s the only unique, positive contribution I feel I can make.

Apparently 17 years ago today, I was in Salt Lake City, Utah taking photos of flowers. I like how they have peach fuzz and it sort of looks like there's an angry spider face in the middle.

This is the blog post that inspired making my own template and trying this out. It’s A LOT of marking and if you use and air erasable pen, the markings fade pretty quickly. So, you can only mark one row at a time. I may try chalk next time.

I tried a new quilting technique this weekend. It’s not perfect but I like how it turned out and I learned a lot of good lessons for next time!

Oh, I’m so sad to see that Nora is leaving the Oregon Zoo. I was hoping to see her next summer when I move to Vancouver, WA. If you haven’t read The Loneliest Polar Bear by Kale Williams, I highly recommend it. It beautifully documents Nora’s story.

I wanted to get a video of this ghost crab but every time I got close to their hole they scuttled back in, so I tried getting clever with it. I made a little sandcastle and shoved my phone into it, hit record, and walked away. Crab was VERY suspicious of this addition to their environment.
