Think about your chess rating like a leaking glass of water. It'll only rise to the level of the holes in your game. Thing is, you've got to plug those holes from the bottom up. Keep working on and identifying those holes! Eventually you'll reach your rating goal

Recently got over my rating anxiety on chess.com. unfortunately it means that I'm losing a lot of games but that's how you learn right?
Rating will go up and down, but actually playing instead of just smashing my face against books is the only way I'm going to learn and get better
