people have trouble taking it seriously or understanding how it can be the center of a bigotry web rather than at the bottom of a list of other bigotries, a silly and antiquated idea that proves the bigot out of touch with modern realities.

2. for a long long time antisemitism was/has been characterized as a side topic of bigotry, even when it comes to Nazis today you get people who freak out if you say "antisemitism was the core of the Nazi world view" more so if you're talking modern antisemites like white nationalists

I do think the greatest strength leftists have, that ironically they generally don't believe, is that a lot of liberals consistently want to like them, want to like their favored politicians, want to believe the best of them.

Personally I think this is an incredible waste of time, but there you go.

there is some tension between the (correct) level of apocalypticism on this site about food aid running out and the unwillingness to make any compromises in service of making it not run out

The abandonment of a position that marginalized ethnicities merit sovereignty or the principle of national self-determination in favor of a position of, basically, "hegemonies will crush marginalized communities, tough luck, way of the world."

I would counter that I believe people feel much more comfortable calling for the extirpation of a state, the erasure of its people's self-determination and de facto second-class status when the state is an already-distrusted marginalized group than when it's another population hegemony.

Nothing atypical or exceptionally bad about NIMBY nationalism at all, but it's not cosmopolitan, decolonial, or antiracist and I fucking despise seeing it sold as such.

Which is my core critique of Palestinianism! You get it to its rock-bottom opinions and those amount to, immigrants are moving into our country, not assimilating, speaking their own language, buying up property, not giving us jobs or renting the land to our peasants.

It's NIMBYism as a nationalism.

The degree of the near-total destruction of European Jewry was basically unfathomable beforehand to even the most pessimistic Zionists.

This gets lost in no small part because people feel really uncomfortable about the fact that the world was still wildly antisemitic even in the immediate aftermath of the Holocaust.
