The most dangerous aspect of the left is that it's so convinced of its moral superiority is that it's very easy to assume they can't ever be the baddies, which means they're absolutely terrible at recognizing bigotry when a leftist is doing it

I’m a simple Jew. If I see an organization promoting someone who is known for publicly advocating for gunning Jews down in the streets, I immediately and permanently file them as “Nazis,” in my brain and never tolerate their existence in any group I deem legitimate.

I love when leftists who openly don't vote demand you take them seriously, like bro you're declaring openly you don't play the sport we're talking about how to play, you are not relevant.

one thing I hate about the modern world is how much attention random people get in the political economy, its so tiring that we spend more time talking about Ezra Klein or MattY who don't matter, who have no power and no following, than we do at least 49 of the 50 state Governors for example.

people have trouble taking it seriously or understanding how it can be the center of a bigotry web rather than at the bottom of a list of other bigotries, a silly and antiquated idea that proves the bigot out of touch with modern realities.

2. for a long long time antisemitism was/has been characterized as a side topic of bigotry, even when it comes to Nazis today you get people who freak out if you say "antisemitism was the core of the Nazi world view" more so if you're talking modern antisemites like white nationalists

I do think the greatest strength leftists have, that ironically they generally don't believe, is that a lot of liberals consistently want to like them, want to like their favored politicians, want to believe the best of them.

Personally I think this is an incredible waste of time, but there you go.

That stuff is easy to condemn. Ask him about “globalize the intifada” or any other socially acceptable way to express a desire to spill Jew blood.
The pro-Palestine group Within Our Lifetime has already decided that Zohran Mamdani has sold out the pro-Palestine cause... by condemning swastikas drawn on a Jewish day school in Brooklyn. forward.com/culture/7822...
Mamdani's first statement on antisemitism as mayor-elect got some weird pushback
After someone spraypainted a swastika on a yeshiva, Zohran Mamdani condemned antisemitism. Somehow, this generated conspiracy theories.

The abandonment of a position that marginalized ethnicities merit sovereignty or the principle of national self-determination in favor of a position of, basically, "hegemonies will crush marginalized communities, tough luck, way of the world."

I would counter that I believe people feel much more comfortable calling for the extirpation of a state, the erasure of its people's self-determination and de facto second-class status when the state is an already-distrusted marginalized group than when it's another population hegemony.

Nothing atypical or exceptionally bad about NIMBY nationalism at all, but it's not cosmopolitan, decolonial, or antiracist and I fucking despise seeing it sold as such.

Which is my core critique of Palestinianism! You get it to its rock-bottom opinions and those amount to, immigrants are moving into our country, not assimilating, speaking their own language, buying up property, not giving us jobs or renting the land to our peasants.

It's NIMBYism as a nationalism.

This gets lost in no small part because people feel really uncomfortable about the fact that the world was still wildly antisemitic even in the immediate aftermath of the Holocaust.
