This is the most corrupt, lawless administration in the history of the United States and there’s no close second.

Pete Hegseth is a murderer. We should call it as such, and do so over and over again.

No functioning government should have someone like this in a position where they can hurt anyone else.

I’m not an expert in military law. However claiming you can call Kelly back to service (??!?!?) to court martial him for merely stating a core principle of the military code of justice is obscene and would not end in the result Push-up Pete hopes for taskandpurpose.com/news/pentago...

We cannot accept a politics that treats violence as normal. We cannot ask people to serve while fearing for their lives. America should be led by values. Today made it clear this president does not have any.

The common good is a set of shared commitments.

To the rule of law. To democracy. To tolerance. To equal opportunity. To upholding the truth.

We cannot have a functioning society without these shared commitments.

Any Democrat who "trusts" notoriously deceitful Republicans to keep their word on an ACA vote deal is too naive/stupid to be in office.

Let's fix that next time they are up for election. #PrimaryTheIdiots

Corporations don’t pay enough to feed you and your family, so you use SNAP.

Then he punishes you for using SNAP instead of taking on the companies that don’t pay you what you’re worth.

We sometimes forget Trump is just an asshole boss. He always finds a way to blame workers.

It’s a sad day when a judge has to order the President of the United States to feed vulnerable families and hungry children with funds already designated for that very purpose.

In 1932, the Soviet Union utilized food shortages as a means of coercion against the Soviet Ukrainian population. Called the Holodomor, it was a man-made famine used for political purposes, much like what Republicans in Congress are getting ready to do to fellow Americans.

The President wants to use the military to crack down on Americans who are exercising their 1st Amendment rights to oppose him. I can’t think of a better reason to insist on exercising those rights.

Did you know?

About 4.5 million SNAP recipients are babies and toddlers under age 5.

About 11.1 million SNAP recipients are kids aged 5 to 17 years, who need food for healthy growth, learning, & development.

The federal government has the capacity to continue funding SNAP during a shutdown.

There is only one thing the oligarchs and corporations sucking up to Trump care about: their money. Not their reputations, unless it affects their money.

Remember that when fighting back. Go after their money.

Amen. And fast.
For every fascist authoritarian, there was a Chamberlain who tried appeasement, or a Schumer who opted for stern letters over dogged resistance.

Fascism thrives in the face of timid opposition.

This is why voters are desperate for candidates who will truly challenge Trump and the oligarchs.

Merkley: "What we've seen is that democracies no longer die bc men w/guns go in and take it over. Instead, it's electeds who erode the separation of power. If you have a rubber-stamp Congress & courts that deliver more power to the executive, suddenly you have an authoritarian state. It's here now."
