I dimly remember reading a sci fi/fantasy novel about a musician who has to chase his love to the moon, very much in the vein of Manly Wade Wellman rather than Asimov. A folk fantasy novel, anybody know this and it's title?

Watching "Walled in" and suprised I don't see Robin D. Laws name attached to it.
