I worked for a federal member of parliament during the time the NBN was being planned and rolled out.
It was shameless how they were prioritising marginal electorates. Trying to deliver where they needed to shore up votes.

You don’t have fibre NBN?
I was in Darwin, even there i had fttp and stupidly fast* mobile data on 4G.
(*fast compared to the UK, where I am now. Mobile coverage absolutely sucks here)

All email went down at my work once.
IT literally sent emails (and nothing else) to all staff telling them that email was inaccessible. Then an update saying when would be back, then a third advising us that we were able to read and send email.
